Some years ago, Mrs. WC and I were picking blueberries, scoping birds and camping out at Nome Creek, just after the new road and campgrounds had been built and before the fire. Everything was new.
We found a fairly woolly looking backpacker at the upper end, who had just beat his way from Wickersham Dome to Nome Creek. He was sheltering from the wind and rain by hanging out in the brand new, cedar-smelling, never used outhouse, waiting for his ride. The backpacker turned out to be Jamie Smith, Fairbanks cartoonist and all-around nice guy. Jamie is no fan of our ex-gov, and has demonstrated that a well-drawn cartoon can seriously poke a hole in the biggest ego.
So take a look at his one-liner on Palin. It doesn’t get any better than being able to use your subject’s own words to make an effective point.
