About That Oath, Ex-Sen. Santorum
Ex-Senator Santorum told the world that President Kennedy’s speech explaining the difference between personal religious views and public actions made the ex-Senator nauseous:
.
(It’s all right, Santorum. Your religious pandering makes WC nauseous.)
It’s also unclear to WC how you would be able to take the oath of office should you be elected president. As commenter Kate McLaughlin has pointed out, you’d swear to uphold the Constitution. The Constitution mandates the separation of church and state, a hard lesson learned by those Founding Fathers you claim to revere. You claim your religious values should be imposed on all Americans. The Constitution forbids it. President Kennedy was right; you are utterly wrong.

Isn’t it so hypocritical that the tea party picks and chooses from the Constitution very much in the same way they pick and choose from the Old Testament.
The pretty much ignore the lessons from the New Testament, which is ironic, because they are supposedly christians and the New Testament was written about the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Rick Santorum makes me ill. He is a religious zealot and somebody needs to ask him point blank if he will follow his religious teaching over the Constitution and will he takes orders from the Pope? Will he do whats right for All Americans? or just the ones that profess to be christians?

Pleasant surprise for me to see that I’ve actually said something that made sense to someone else!
Now who is the person, Norquist?, that all these GOP Congressmen have been making “pledges” to concerning what legislation they would vote or would not vote upon. How is this not in direct violation to their oath of office? How are they not immediately brought up on ethics charges when this occurs?
Oh, and Happy Friday.

Your comment leads me to believe you would enjoy the segment that Samantha Bee did on The Daily Show interview of Grover Norquist a few days ago. I hope the link works here:

Be sure to stay with the segment all the way through the interview with G.N. and she follows with the little kids and their take on “the pledge.” I’m surprised Norquist tolerated the visit. (although I’ve heard that he does comedy gigs himself as an avocation)
