Tales from Wasilla: Kenny Champ Is Sentenced
WC’s readers will remember Ken Champ, would-be dope kingpin, sewage pumping czar and the Pride of Houston (Alaska).
Champs ended up pleading to most of the charges against him. He’s been sentenced now.
On the federal charges, Champ got the relatively light sentence of 28 months to serve. That’s a relatively light sentence for 1,700 marijuana plants.
Yesterday, a Superior Court judge sentenced Champ to pay a $10,000 fine and spend 305 days behind bars for the theft and pollution convictions. $10,000 is a lot of sewage to be pumped, especially if you have to pay the dumping fees at the treatment plant and can’t just dump it in a convenient creek.
WC has always wondered: are all crooks as stupid as Kenny Champ, or is it that the cops only catch the stupid ones?
I’ll go with the latter.
