Photography Challenges: Fairbanks in Autumn

In the summer of 2011, WC got a rare paid assignment to try to capture a photo of downtown Fairbanks that would make WC’s homely hometown look, you know, attractive.

The photo was successful enough that WC has undertaken the same shot across four seasons. Last autumn, none of the 5-6 days the leaves were still on the trees was sunny. Today, WC’s luck changed. There have been years when the colors have been brighter, but here’s the same view in autumn.

Serious props to Festival Fairbanks for their work improving the look of downtown. The flower baskets were spectacular this summer. For comparison, WC includes below the Summer 2011 photo.
