Chihuly!

Dale Chihuly is a truly extraordinary artist whose medium is epic scale hand blown glass. WC offers a few photos of his permanent exhibition in Seattle, “Chihuly Garden and Glass,” for your pleasure. This is a tiny, tiny fraction of the exhibit itself. Some of the sculptures are very large; all are three dimensional. They don’t capture in photography’s two dimensions all that well. But see if you don’t agree with WC that this is astonishing stuff.

WC’s photos don’t do these works justice, and the four pieces shown here represent just a tiny part of the total exhibit. If you are in Seattle, this exhibit should be on your list of places to visit. Truly extraordinary.

  1. Chihuly certainly is one of the world’s treasures. If WC ever is visiting his Phoenix sibling at the right time, the city’s Desert Botanical Garden offers a Chihuly show on a biennial(?) basis; rounding a corner of desert exotics and seeing one more of these wonderful creations is an extreme pleasure not to be missed.
