There are lots of reasons WC detests Christianists. And by “Christianists” WC means the hypocrites and zealots who claim to be Christians but in facts ignore most of the precepts of the New Testament of the Christian Bible. While they would never acknowledge it, they are no different than the Muslim extremists who preach jihad.
The most recent examples include the “Reverend” Roger Jimenez, a Sacramento preacher, who told his congregation on June 12, “The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die. The tragedy is — I’m kind of upset that he didn’t finish the job! Because these people are predators! They are abusers!”
Or Pastor Donnie Romero, who told his Fort Worth congregation that every gay person is a pedophile. He was praying that the injured Orlando victims would not survive, he said, “so that they don’t get any more opportunity to go out and hurt little children.” “I’ll pray to God that God will finish the job that that man started,” he added, referring to the gunman, Omar Mateen.
Or Pastor Steven Anderson, the leader of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Ariz., who told his followers, “I don’t believe it’s right for us to just be a vigilante, These people all should have been killed, anyway, but they should have been killed through the proper channels, as in they should have been executed by a righteous government.”
In what way, other than the details of their particular dogma, are these Christianists different from the mullahs who preach death to the infidels?
The Christianists’ willful blindness would be amusing if it weren’t so deadly. Let’s just take as one example all those Republican presidential wannabes. As Peter Mulvey reported, “I spoke to God personally just them about an hour ago, and I asked God “Did you really tell twelve Republicans to run for President, like, in person, and then none of them won the nomination?” God said “Yes, Peter. Yes, I did.” And I shook my head and said “Wow, God. You have a wicked sense of humor.” And God said “Yes. Yes, I do.”
God may be able to have a sense of humor about all that frothing rage in His name, at least in His communications with Peter Mulvey. WC isn’t so good at looking past all that hate and hypocrisy.
