The Cubs and clinch the National League pennant tonight by beating the Dodgers. That would set the first four digits of the Eamus Catulli counter to zeroes. That would be for the first time since before WC’s parents met.
WC spent some time in his bleacher seats, purchased at the 1983 remodel of Wrigley. WC has busted out his 1906 retro wool jersey.
Now it’s in the hands of the Cubs, who must solve Clayton Kershaw.
Sure, Major League Baseball is a game played by millionaires and teams owned by billionaires. Yes, it can be slow, especially if the Dodgers’ Baez is pitching. But it’s the only professional sport WC watches, and the Cubs are a good team only every 15 years or so. Yes, watching the Cubs play is bad for your heart and blood pressure both. But WC doesn’t think of presidential politics at all while the game is playing.
So WC will hang his heart on the Baby Bears once again. Comments will be ignored for a while. More important stuff will be happening.
